Description

A comforting and flavorful dish made with ground beef, mushrooms, and creamy sauce, perfect for busy weeknights or family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 medium sweet onion, diced
  • 8 oz fresh mushrooms (cremini or button), sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth (low-sodium)
  • 1 cup full-fat sour cream (or Greek yogurt)
  • 8 oz egg noodles (or preferred pasta)
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp dried parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Gather all your ingredients. Chop the onions and slice the mushrooms.
  2. In a large skillet, heat some oil over medium heat. Add the diced onions and sauté until they become translucent, around 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the sliced mushrooms to the pan. Cook them until they turn golden brown.
  4. Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until the beef is thoroughly browned. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Sprinkle the flour over the beef mixture and stir to coat everything evenly.
  6. Gradually pour in the beef broth while stirring constantly. Let it simmer for about 5-7 minutes until the mixture thickens to your desired consistency.
  7. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the sour cream until fully combined. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  8. Serve the stroganoff hot over cooked egg noodles. Garnish with parsley for a fresh touch.

Notes

Best served with garlic bread, steamed vegetables, or a side salad. Can be easily stored in airtight containers.
