Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/4 cup powdered sugar
2 eggs
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla extract (or 1 tbsp bourbon)
3/4 cup chopped pecans
3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Mix flour, butter, and powdered sugar. Press into greased 8×8 pan.
3. Bake crust for 15 minutes until lightly golden.
4. Mix eggs, brown sugar, flour, salt, and vanilla/bourbon.
5. Fold in pecans and chocolate chips.
6. Pour filling over hot crust and spread evenly.
7. Bake 25–30 minutes until top is set and slightly crackled.
8. Cool completely. Cut into bars and serve.
Notes
Skip bourbon and use vanilla for a family-friendly version.
Try adding shredded coconut or mini chips for texture twists.
Store leftovers in an airtight container up to 4 days.
